THE PROCESS OF WEBSITE DESIGN

As with our print work, JDC Design encourages our clients to be a part of building their web site. We begin by getting to know about our clients’ expectations for their web site: what function they would like it to serve, how they want it to look, and what kind of audience they are targeting.

JDC Design offers two kinds of web site packages: design packages based on templates, and custom designs. For more specific information, click a button below.

Our web site designs begin by having our team gather the vital details, such as the number of pages, content type, and other features, we draft a detailed proposal which is submitted to clients for their approval. The proposal is an exact, comprehensive description of the work JDC Design will do, how long it will take, and how much it will cost.

Once the proposal is modified (if necessary), approved and signed by the client, and a deposit of 50% of the total cost is received, we begin working on the site.

We build web sites in five basic steps:

1. Set-Up: Registering domain names, finding web hosts, and establishing email accounts for the clients.

2. Design: Creation of sample designs from which clients can select the visual look of the site. We encourage our clients to give us ideas and suggestions along the way.

3. Construction: Building the site to the visual specifications of our clients, incorporating any and all content they provide.

4. Approval: Obtaining clients’ final approval of the site.

5. Launch: Making the site public. This involves launching the site, submitting it to search engines, and monitoring it carefully for any ‘bugs’ that may come up in the days and weeks ahead.

Related to building the site, but contracted differently, is site maintenance and search engine optimization. These are included under a different contract, and continue for the length of time specified in that contract.
