QUESTIONS ABOUT GRAPHIC DESIGN
1) Graphic design isn't rocket
science! Do I NEED a designer to create my graphic design?
If you were a professional racecar driver, would you have just
anybody design and build you your Formula-One Race car? Probably
not.
Instead, you should have a professional designer create a project
to reflect your company's mission... help you sell your products....
or just to get your name orbiting around the world. Graphic
design can perform many tasks. It's up to you to decide what
you want it to do for you - and up to your developer to accomplish
that task.
2) What do you charge for your
graphic design services?
Our hourly rate is $110. Although we base our job estimates
on the hourly rate, all jobs are given an estimated cost for
the completion of that particular project.
3) What is your payment plan for
graphic design services?
For all jobs, an initial deposit (50% of total estimate) is
required upon signing a work contract. The remainder fee is
due upon completion of the job. No job will be started without
a signed proposal and a 50% deposit.
4) How will I know what I’m
getting?
Before any job is initiated, JDC Design will provide you with
a complete Project Estimate, which will include graphic design
services as well as copywriting, if needed. If we are handling
the printing of your job as well, a separate Printing Estimate
will be provided for your review.
5) What will my involvement be
in the creation of your designs for my project?
You can be as involved as you like. It helps the process if
you have some idea of what you want, but it is not necessary.
We will come up with a dynamic and visually exciting piece all
on our own. Once we have the first draft, your comments are
welcomed and appreciated.
6) What do I need to provide you
before starting on my project?
If you have an existing logo that needs to be incorporated
into your piece, we'll start with that. Or we can create one
for you. Besides the logo, any graphics that you want should
be given to us, or we can handle all of that as well. If you
are designing a brochure, any text you have would be helpful.
If the text is not in a useful form and you need it rewritten
or edited, we have excellent copywriters that can take your
words and transform them into eloquently written scripts.
7) What types of graphic design
services do you provide?

8) How do I see my design work
as it progresses?
Through the use of email, all works-in-progress will be sent
to you as a PDF document or JPEG graphic. These are the most
common forms of files that can be viewed by just about anyone.
9) Do I own the copyright of the
design work JDC Design does for me?
All copyrights are transferred over to the client upon clearance
of full payment. To continue to provide competitive rates, we
entrust the client's responsibility to verify that both the
artwork requested and any original designs given to JDC Design
will not infringe upon any statutory copyright.
10) Can you do rush jobs?
JDC Design may accept rush jobs at 50%-100% increase of our
standard fee, determined by the schedule and complexity of the
job.
11) How will I receive my design
project once it is done?
Upon approval of design and remainder payment received by JDC
Design, you will have the option of receiving your images via
e-mail attachment, CD, and/or hard copy. If we are handling
the printing of your job as well, final job will be delivered
via messenger, or sent using FedEx or UPS Ground.
Transfer of full copyright will occur after receipt and clearance
of final payment.
